Pre-1890 heirloom variety with a unique purple-rose color. The flavor has been described as both sweet and smokey, and definitely rivals the Brandywine as my favorite tomato. These productive plants produce large crops of 8-16 oz. fruit.  Stake this vigorous plant well.
