This perennial herb is irresistible to cats, but also makes a great addition to summer salads. Plants grow 16"-30" tall, have grey-green foliage, and produce tiny blue flowers. I've found that it makes a nice edible border while deterring garden pests.

Interestingly enough, the oil contained in Catnip leaves has been found to be an excellent mosquito repellent.
