Spinach Monstrueux de Viroflay - French Heirloom Seeds
Literally "the monstrous spinach of Viroflay". This 18th-century French heirloom acquired its name from the town of Virolay, which lies directly adjacent to Versailles. It's a safe bet that Napoleon himself ate this variety.
Grows to an enormous size if allowed, but offers best taste when harvested at 4"-8". Baby leaves are exquisite. Bon Appetit!
